Sales of DroboElite Grew 50% in Last Three Months
Claims manufacturer Data Robotics
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 6, 2010 at 3:30 pmData Robotics, Inc. announced record sales levels on the heels of its new Drobo FS launched in April and unprecedented demand for its DroboElite platform that is designed for virtual server environments. In addition, the company has recently received industry recognition for its storage systems.
“Data protection and management just need to get easier for everyone, and our growth speaks volumes to the data-safe and ease-of-use value proposition that our customers appreciate from their Drobos,” said Tom Buiocchi, CEO, Data Robotics, Inc. “Most small and medium businesses don’t have the luxury of a dedicated army of storage experts, so we strive to deliver all the best storage benefits without the cost or complexity.”
In April, Data Robotics introduced the Drobo FS, a Drobo designed for simple, expandable file sharing. The product has since achieved the fastest ramp in the company’s history, more than doubling its forecasted sales. The Drobo FS provides a strong complement to the DroboElite, the company’s highest end product designed for virtualised environments, sales of which grew over 50% in the last 3 months.
Additionally, the Drobo product line received a number of industry accolades, including:
- Drobo FS Receives Network Products Guide Best Network Video Storage Award
- MacWorld UK Editor’s Choice (Drobo S)
- Best of Microsoft TechEd (DroboElite)
- DroboElite Received PC Pro & IT Reviews Recommended Award
- Named Red Herring Top 100 North America Tech Startup
- Named CRN Emerging Tech Vendor
“Proclaiming simplicity and great value does not make Drobo special in our industry, but what does make it stand out is that it seems to have really cracked the code on these points for small and medium businesses,” said Mark Peters, senior analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group. “Furthermore, its BeyondRAID technology allows for sophisticated data protection without legacy complexities, and customers seem to love that combination.”
