In media and entertainment industry
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 6, 2010 at 3:28 pmBlueArc Corporation announced that 13 production and post-production companies have recently chosen BlueArc storage solutions to speed delivery and increase quality of computer-generated imagery (CGI) development, production, and editing.
BlueArc has emerged as a preferred storage vendor by delivering performance to reduce artist wait times and ensure fast data access that allows artists to focus on quality and creativity, instead of waiting for file transfers and downloads.
The entertainment industry deals with increasingly heavy network and storage bandwidth, and artists are frequently working with large data sets. Add to that tight deadlines, and performance and reliability become ‘must haves.’ BlueArc enables firms to achieve lower total cost of ownership through improved productivity and efficiency derived from high data throughput and IOPS, storage consolidation and reduction of costs through simplified management.
"Mercury Filmworks is very excited to be a part of the BlueArc family. BlueArc’s philosophy is a mirror of our own: Lead, never follow. The BlueArc client list includes more than 70 entertainment companies around the world, small and large, that are leaders in their fields, assisting in the production of video games, television, full length box office hits like The Dark Knight, and epic commercials, like Write the Future, that set new precedents in their industry.

BlueArc also sells its solutions through a large number of Value-Added-Resellers who specialize in the media and entertainment industry.
