This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on August 4, 2010 at 4:56 pmSEPATON, Inc. is expanding its business into Central Europe, establishing a new regional office in Frankfurt and targeting new partnerships with European resellers.
Heading up SEPATON’s new DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) division as Sales Director for Central Europe will be native German and storage veteran, Rolf Lange.
"This is the perfect moment for SEPATON to expand our presence with our data protection solutions in the European market," Lange said. "With the economic crisis lifting, many more enterprise businesses across the region are now ready to invest in innovative technologies that are proven to have an instant effect on both productivity and efficiency while delivering a rapid return on investment."
Lange’s first priority is to attract new reseller partners capable of seizing this exciting opportunity to work directly with a SEPATON sales team winning new business. Together they will attract new data protection customers from enterprise companies that need to replace large physical tape libraries suffering from slow access and restore speeds, with modern high-speed architectures comprising virtual tape libraries (VTLs), fully integrated data deduplication and secure remote replication software.
Until recently, SEPATON has conducted business primarily in the US, UK, South Africa, and Asia. The company has one pan-European partner, MTI, as well as installations and customers in Germany including Symantec, McKinsey, Cirquent/Softlab, Coperion and Siempelkamp.
Lange believes that newly recruited partners together with an experienced SEPATON team that understands the local market, will quickly seize the opportunity to leverage the data protection business and enhance the company’s position as a leader in the high-end data protection arena.
"To sell enterprise technology in Germany, it’s very important to have a local presence not only because of language, but also because understanding of local law requirements as well as business culture is of paramount importance," said Lange.
Jon Mills, managing director of SEPATON in EMEA said: "We have known Rolf for over 15 years now and have no doubt at all that he is the perfect choice to spearhead SEPATON’s expansion into Central Europe. After two years of economic constraints, businesses in this region now need to renew their technology infrastructure, and we feel that this is the right time to appoint not only a storage veteran like Rolf, but also quality enterprise reseller partners that understand local market conditions as well as the strong demand that already exists for data protection technology."
Prior to joining SEPATON as Sales Director for Central Europe, Rolf Lange had worked in the industry for over 25 years, including six years as storage sales director for Sun Microsystems, and various sales management positions in Germany for companies including Evans & Sutherland and Auspex Systems.
