Mark Lonsdale Senior VP Engineering for Active Storage
Former senior director of engineering for EMC Data Protection Advisor

In this role he will be tasked with driving the development of Active’s next generation products for Media Applications and Apple professionals.

His extensive software engineering experience combined with his user-centric approach to development is a perfect fit, and will help take Active to the next level,” said Active Storage Founder and CEO Alex Grossman. “In this new role, Mark will be managing all engineering development, as well as being charged with bringing new and innovative products to our users.”
Lonsdale joins Active Storage from EMC, where he was a Sr. Director of Engineering for EMC Data Protection Advisor, the industry leader in Data Protection management solutions. Prior to EMC, he co-founded WysDM Software Inc. where he was responsible for the development of the WysDM product suite, as well as working closely with key customers and partners in the Finance, Telecom and Technology markets. The company was sold to EMC in 2008.

Before co-founding WysDM Software, Lonsdale was a Director of Engineering at StorageNetworks, responsible for overseeing engineering for StorageNetworks backup service offerings. Lonsdale also spent time at Goldman Sachs, as part of the Storage Engineering group, with responsibilities for evaluating and introducing leading-edge storage technologies to the company.
Mark holds a (Honors) Bachelor of Science, Master of Engineering from Manchester University, England.
