Silver Peak WAN Optimization Appliances and GMS Available Through HDS

Silver Peak Systems, Inc., in data center class Wide Area Network (WAN) optimization, announced that the company’s NX series appliances and Global Management System (GMS) are available through Hitachi Data Systems.

By overcoming common WAN performance and reliability challenges, the Silver Peak solution complements Hitachi Data Systems’ NAS and SAN replication products by increasing the amount of data that can be protected to offsite locations. In addition, the combined Silver Peak / Hitachi Data Systems solution enables replication to take place over shared WAN infrastructures, minimizing ongoing disaster recovery expenditures.

Silver Peak’s entire NX series of appliances (NX-1000, NX-3000, NX-5000, NX-7000, and NX-9000) and Global Management System (GMS) are available for ordering immediately through Hitachi Data Systems and its reseller partners on a select basis.

This agreement builds on Silver Peak’s existing interoperability relationship with Hitachi Data Systems, when the company became a global ISV partner in the Hitachi Data Systems Technology Alliance Program in December of 2009. In addition, Silver Peak’s NX appliances have been certified with a range of Hitachi Data Systems offerings, including Hitachi Universal Storage Platform V enterprise arrays, Hitachi Advanced Modular Storage, and Hitachi Data Systems SAN and NAS replication software. Silver Peak is the only WAN optimization solution to be qualified with this range of solutions from Hitachi Data Systems.
