Tivoli Storage Manager V6.2.1

Adds national language support and source-side de-dupe

In addition to previously announced support for U.S. English, V6.2.1 of the following IBM Tivoli Storage Manager products delivers language support for Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Russian:

  • IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (refer to Note 1)
  • IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Extended Edition (refer to Note 1)
  • IBM System Storage Archive Manager
  • IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Storage Area Networks
  • IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Space Management (refer to Note 2)

Note 1: Translation into Czech, Hungarian, and Polish is also available for the Tivoli Storage Manager V6.2.1 client and the Tivoli Storage Manager Extended Edition V6.2.1 client.
Note 2: Tivoli Storage Manager for Space Management V6.2.1 is also available in Czech, Hungarian, and Polish.

Tivoli Storage Manager V6.2 and Tivoli Storage Manager Extended Edition V6.2 provide significant data reduction through progressive incremental backup, built-in data deduplication capability, and client compression. V6.2.1 of these products, which already perform source-side (which can also be referred to as client) data deduplication for file data, delivers the capability to perform source-side data deduplication for application data.
