SunGuard Storage Replication Service Offered Through EMC Select Program

SunGard Availability Services‘ Storage Replication Service will be available starting June 2010 through EMC Select, a program which helps customers easily acquire components that comprise an information infrastructure. SunGard’s Storage Replication Service leverages EMC RecoverPoint/SE technology and SunGard’s AdvancedRecovery services to help organizations recover quickly and cost effectively following an unplanned event.

Companies are aggressively trying to drive capital expenditures out of their IT infrastructure without sacrificing performance or availability.  While improving the ability to protect and recover data is a priority, many are reluctant to invest in point products to resolve those needs. SunGard’s Storage Replication Service, powered by EMC RecoverPoint/SE technology, is a comprehensive data replication and disaster recovery solution for small to medium-sized organizations. The Storage Replication Service is part of SunGard’s AdvancedRecovery portfolio, which helps companies cost effectively address the performance, cost and risk of application-specific availability requirements using replication and disk-based backup technologies, meeting recovery time objectives of less than 12 hours.

The Storage Replication Service uses EMC RecoverPoint/SE continuous data protection and remote replication solution to host a customer’s replicated EMC CLARiiON storage system information at a secure SunGard location. Customers have access to a comprehensive suite of SunGard Recovery Services, including IT infrastructure and support personnel for both recovery and testing purposes. SunGard helps companies reduce the time and effort they need to invest in disaster recovery, and improve the quality and measurability of disaster recovery testing.
