Zetta Completed SAS 70 Audit
And on its way to achieving the SysTrust certification
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 19, 2010 at 3:07 pmEnterprise storage service provider Zetta Inc. announced the completion of the Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) 70 Type II audit, an auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). A service auditor’s examination performed in accordance with SAS 70 is widely recognized, because it represents that a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of their control objectives and control activities.
Raising the bar even higher, Zetta is also on its way to achieving the more stringent SysTrust certification.
SysTrust is an assurance service that was jointly developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), and is designed to increase the comfort of management, customers, and business partners with systems that support a business or particular activity. In a SysTrust engagement, the practitioner evaluates and tests whether or not a specific system is reliable when measured against detailed, pre-set criteria in four areas: availability, security, integrity, and maintainability.
"We took the SAS 70 certification very seriously, because we are an enterprise storage service provider, and it is important to have third-party validation from recognized organizations that our customers and partners trust," said Jeff Treuhaft, CEO of Zetta. "The fact that we have been through a recent in-depth audit increases credibility for our storage services, showing that we have the processes and technologies in place to make sure that mission-critical customer data is safe."
Zetta Enterprise Storage service delivers Network Attached Storage (NAS) on-demand, satisfying companies’ enterprise storage requirements for unstructured data with the features of an enterprise-class NAS system, along with the flexibility and cost advantages of a service-based, on-demand business model.
