GreenBank Deploys Crossroads Virtual Tape Appliance

A dedicated virtual tape appliance, SPHiNX delivers optimized data protection and resiliency for GreenBank’s IBM Power Systems (AS/400) environment that services its corporate headquarters as well as 65 branches throughout Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina. After an extensive evaluation of the solution, its functionalities and performance, GreenBank now utilizes SPHiNX as a data encryption and replication solution linked to a remote site.
With nearly three months of use, GreenBank reports that SPHiNX surpassed PCI and SOX compliance requirements and decreased operational costs surrounding the maintenance of their tape backup solution. GreenBank had specific backup needs that were tailored by Crossroads to meet its requirements. GreenBank also reports improved security, performance and ease of use, noting that it enabled powerful data encryption capabilities while fully leveraging the bank’s existing storage infrastructure.
