Data Devices International Exclusive WW Distributor of Erase-O-Matic
A degausser to demagnetize digital video and computer tape
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 11, 2010 at 3:02 pmData Devices International, Inc., in the data security industry, has been appointed the exclusive worldwide distributor of the Erase-O-Matic, a degausser specifically designed to completely demagnetize hard-to-erase digital video and computer tape.
“With an exclusive distributorship, we’re able to offer this revolutionary degausser for under two hundred dollars, an extraordinarily low price," said David Partridge, President of Data Devices International, Inc. "This eraser is so inexpensive that every security-conscious office should have one. Not only is it powerful and portable, it doesn’t use electricity. You can use it anywhere on earth.”
The Erase-O-Matic table-top degausser uses the latest in technology – rare earth permanent magnets – to demagnetize magnetic media, instead of electrical power. This new technology is more powerful and less expensive than its electric counterpart.
Most tape degaussers rely on electrical power and overheat quickly, needing time to cool down. The Erase-O-Matic doesn’t need any external power source and thus can’t overheat. It can be run continuously – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. At five pounds, this digital video and computer tape eraser is transportable. An optional heavy-duty impact-resistant shipping and transportation case is available.
States continue passing stringent laws on the management of digital data. In today’s litigious world, every organization must be vigilant about how they discard any data, especially since the passing of laws such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Data Devices International is a resource to help companies and individuals best manage this legal exposure through information, educational resources and proper equipment.
