Synology NAS DiskStation DS1010+ at 167 MB/s Reading
In link aggregation performance test
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 19, 2010 at 2:56 pmSynology, Inc. announced that the DiskStation DS1010+, a 5-bay NAS server delivering scalability, storage capacity and multiple business-oriented features for SMB users, marked breakthroughs in link aggregation performance test. It delivers an average 167 MB/sec reading speed under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment, and 142 MB/sec writing.
Link aggregation is a method of using two Ethernet ports in parallel to provide trunking and network fault tolerance. A link aggregation with trunking feature enhances connection speed beyond the limits of any one single cable or port. The improved transmission performance is best observed in environments where multiple-client connections are present. The redundancy also creates higher link availability and avoids possible disruption occurrences.
"We are glad to confirm the breakthrough of the Synology DS1010+ meets the needs of SMB users who require network attached storage solutions that support large number of concurrent connections while keeping performance high," said Edward Lin, marketing director of Synology, Inc.
