SerialTek Adds Linux Support
For BusXpert and BusMod SAS and SATA protocol development tools
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 22, 2010 at 3:13 pmSerialTek, a SAS and SATA protocol test solutions company, announces Linux compatibility for its line of BusXpert SAS/SATA protocol analyzers as well as the BusMod SAS/SATA Error Injector.
"We designed the BusXpert and BusMod to be portable from the start and we’re proud to be the only analyzer/error injector in the market to deliver Linux support," said Dale Smith, President/CTO of SerialTek. "Many Linux users will greatly appreciate not having to maintain separate Windows systems for their test tools."
The Linux versions of the BusXpert SAS/SATA Analyzer software feature the same easy to use GUI, speedy capture and display, and powerful triggering / filtering / searching capabilities as its Windows counterpart. The recently announced BusMod SAS/SATA Error Injector capabilities like generating link errors such as 8b10b and CRC mismatch, adding and removing DWORDS to a frame, and modifying frame contents are now also made available to SAS and SATA developers working in a Linux environment. The automated programming interface (API) is also available for Linux environments, perfect for those who automate testing.
The BusXpert SAS/SATA Analyzer software and BusMod SAS/SATA Error Injector software are currently compatible with Linux versions: Fedora 12, Ubuntu 9.10, and RedHat / CentOS 5.4. They are available on the SerialTek website in RPM, DEB, and tar.gz formats.
