NEC and Netezza Develop Data Warehouse Appliance
Combining software, blade server and storage platform
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 5, 2010 at 3:23 pmNetezza Corporation and NEC Corporation announced an agreement to jointly develop NEC-branded data warehouse appliances to be sold by NEC worldwide with an initial focus on Japan and the Asia Pacific region.
The new appliances will combine Netezza’s streaming architecture and analytical database software with NEC’s Blade server and Storage platforms. NEC will manufacture, sell and distribute the jointly developed data warehouse appliances, the first of which InfoFrame DWH Appliance is expected to be available in April 2010.

"This relationship further solidifies our longstanding work together with Netezza and allows NEC to bring to market new products that deliver fast, cost efficient analytic solutions across industries."
NEC has been marketing and selling Netezza’s products since 2006, deploying data warehouse appliances to top firms throughout Japan.
