WSIU-TV Opts for NVerzion
And multi-tiered storage with Open Source Storage

WSIU has also added Open Source Storage’s award-winning OSVault’ Network Archive, providing a powerful, yet economical data management appliance ensuring the station’s ability to maintain high-speed file exchange, portability, data preservation and longevity in a non-proprietary, open network environment.
WSIU Public Broadcasting has been an integral part of the College of Mass Communication & Media Arts on the Carbondale campus since 1958,and currently provides programming and services to more than 3 million people. The installation included NVerzion’s NControl Gold Package including NGest Gold, NPoint Gold, NControl MC Gold, NBase/NView, NCommand Gold, NConvert Playlist, as well as several additional NVerzion applications which gave WSIU the ability to fully customize the installations according to their technology and budget requirements while ensuring that all elements worked together seamlessly. The OS Storage archive system is the industry’s first complete open storage solution, providing both near line and archive services in a single system. The solution enables WSIU to utilize classic operating system level interfaces and open recording formats, ensuring the station can always access its data.
