Emulex Licenses Alacritech’s Technology

Emulex Corporation and Alacritech, Inc. jointly announced to have entered into a licensing agreement giving Emulex access to Alacritech’s patent portfolio, including support for Microsoft’s Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) Chimney architecture for its OneConnect Universal Converged Network Adapters (UCNAs).

Emulex OneConnect UCNAs deliver the uncompromised performance of full hardware offload and acceleration for all three protocols (TCP/Internet Protocol (IP), Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) Adapters and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE)) on a single-chip that is optimized to support both IP and storage networking demands. Emulex’s OneConnect UCNAs enable data center managers to meet the performance and architecture requirements of networking, storage and clustering applications with one single integrated adapter solution.
