CommVault Got Certification for Windows Server 2008 R2

For its Simpana 8 software

CommVault Systems, Inc. has completed Windows Server 2008 R2 certification and now supports Windows 7 to ensure that CommVault Simpana software seamlessly operates with the latest versions of Microsoft Corp.‘s server and desktop operating systems.

CommVault’s Simpana software has been optimized for Windows Server 2008 R2, which includes new virtualization tools, web resources, management enhancements and Windows 7 integration capabilities. In passing stringent certification criteria, CommVault can extend the benefits of Simpana software to this new server OS release while easing upgrades for existing customers.

CommVault also has announced support for Windows 7, further easing desktop upgrades and facilitating access to new Microsoft client OS features and improvements.

CommVault shares Microsoft’s commitment to leveraging automation and optimization to lower costs and improve IT service levels while boosting operational efficiencies and individual productivity.

CommVault’s Single Platform Approach
and 64-Bit Architecture

  • CommVault leverages a Singular Information Management approach to ensure holistic data management and complete integration with Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Office SharePoint.
  • Simpana software takes advantage of an expandable set of application modules for Backup, Archive, Replication, Resource Management and Search capabilities, all developed on a single Windows code base to simplify enterprise management and maximize overall efficiencies.
  • Simpana software also utilizes an optimized 64-bit architecture, which is well suited for Microsoft environments with multiple applications, including Windows, Exchange and SharePoint.
  • CommVault’s software is ‘release independent,’ which simplifies and expedites new installations and upgrades to Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7.
