Tabernus Launching Enterprise Erase Array Business Program

Tabernus LLC, in electronic data elimination software and solutions, announced the launch of their Enterprise Erase Array business program designed to help clients erase electronic data from disk arrays in storage area networks (SANs) more efficiently and cost effectively.  

Enterprise Erase Array is a turn-key software and hardware based solution that enables erasure of towered disk arrays without requiring removal of the individual drives in the tower. By empowering the user to directly connect to components in the tower, the user can erase each drive in the tower quickly and easily. Enterprise Erase Array supports multi-vendor products including Dell, EMC, IBM, HP, and NetApp.

The complex nature of erasing data from mass storage environments often leads companies to pay large fees to have this service provided to them. Kevin Enders, Vice President in charge of Marketing and Sales states: “Erasing data from storage area networks (SAN) has always posed a challenge for data center managers. A lot of them aren’t sure of the options available, so they end up spending way too much money to have this done.” Enders adds: “If you have the right software and hardware, it’s actually not very difficult.”

Joe Mount, Vice President of Operations and Product Development, adds that this technology can be leveraged by service providers who perform this service for their clients. “Up to this point, data elimination service providers were required to show up at their customer’s sites with large amounts of equipment. This usually included an erasure cabinet filled with equipment to erase loose hard drives. We wanted to provide our clients with a faster, much more manageable alternative.”  

Tabernus has structured the Enterprise Erase program to offer their clients the software and hardware on a purchase or as needed basis. Enders explains: “We wanted to offer user’s the opportunity to use the product only when they need to, and to pay accordingly. We understand that their requirements for erasing SANs are not steady in most cases. This empowers them to use the product only when they need to do so.”

Enterprise Erase Array is available as a software only solution, or can be deployed using hardware offered through Tabernus.
