Dmailer Launches Technology Program
To speed development of Outlook, sync and backup applications
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 7, 2009 at 3:02 pmDmailer announces the launch of its Technology Partnership Program. In doing so, Dmailer will be helping software companies to reduce the development time and integration of some basic portions of their applications by using Dmailer’s patent-pending software engines. These Dmailer Engines have been built in a modular, ‘plug and play’ fashion, and come complete with fully documented Software Development Kits and comprehensive APIs. More than 50 million copies of Dmailer software have shipped worldwide with leading OEM manufacturers such as SanDisk, Western Digital, Lexar and Verbatim.
- Dmailer Backup Engine: A backup and synchronization software engine that allows files to be managed in local, attached or remote storage locations, including Cloud-based storage environments.
- Dmailer Sync Engine: A unique, patent-pending backup and synchronization engine for Outlook, Exchange, Internet Explorer and Firefox software, enabling access to all data and capable of synchronizing fully across multiple operating systems and software platforms including Outlook (2003, 2007, 2010), Outlook Express and Vista Mail.
- Dmailer App Engine: A set of tools geared towards Executives and Marketing professionals, providing software usage statistics, a user registration platform, and other tools that enable the monitoring and control software releases throughout their life cycle.
“What is unique is that Dmailer is able to provide any software vendor with certain capabilities typically reserved for only leading software companies, at a fraction of the cost in terms of time and resources used,” said Benoit Gantaume, CSO at Dmailer. “For instance, Microsoft has recently announced that it is opening the inner working of the .PST file to the industry for its Outlook 2010 product. Dmailer provides access to the same data in every version of Outlook that currently exists in the market today. You’ll be hard pressed to find a software application that can backup or synchronize Outlook data with as much fidelity as Dmailer, all while Outlook is open and running.”
Dmailer’s Sync Engine can be used in any application requiring access and synchronization with Outlook or Exchange PST & OST files, respectively (Email, Contacts, Calendar, Notes, Tasks, etc.). It also offers developers the unique capability of communicating, accessing, reading and writing into native formats of each mail client, as well as to convert data from one source to another. For example, developers can use the Sync module:
- in a CRM solution to enable a calendar and contact list synchronization,
- in a mobility application that seeks to import/export data from or to an Exchange or Outlook client,
- in a backup solution to backup the desktop environment as well as Outlook items (while Outlook is running).
Numerous vendors have leveraged Dmailer’s engine portfolio. Gemalto, in digital security and provider of software solutions for secure personal devices such as smart cards, SIMs, e-passports and tokens, has recently contracted Dmailer for a key project in the Telecom industry.
“We are extremely happy with the implementation of Dmailer’s Outlook capabilities in Gemalto Smart Dongle solution delivered to one of our key customers,” said Damien Bullot, VP Convergence Business Line at Gemalto. “They delivered the product on time, on budget and worked diligently with our team throughout the process to make certain our client was happy. We’re thrilled both with the technology, but also with Dmailer’s dedication to customer satisfaction.”
Dmailer is also announcing the availability of its new developer’s web site to enable software integrators and partners to quickly and efficiently access reference information and samples of its software engines.
