A 40Gb IB solution
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 19, 2009 at 3:44 pmMellanox Technologies, Ltd. announced that its ConnectX 40Gb/s InfiniBand adapter devices, InfiniScale IV 40Gb/s InfiniBand switch silicon devices and cables provide the high-performance, low-latency interconnect foundation for Asia’s first Petascale cluster, the National University of Defense Technology’s (NUDT) ‘TianHe’.
The system consists over 3,000 server nodes enabled with 40Gb/s InfiniBand adapter devices through Landed-on Motherboard (LOM), 24,500 CPU cores and more than 1.2 Peraflop peak performance, the NUDT TianHe cluster will provide a vital research tool for scientists and engineers running complex simulations and research.
“We are pleased that our high-performance, low-latency, 40Gb/s InfiniBand technology was chosen by NUDT to be the foundation for Asia’s first Petascale cluster,” said John Monson, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “Our InfiniBand connectivity products, with unmatched performance and scalability, continue to be the choice of the world’s most powerful and energy-efficient supercomputers.”
Available today, Mellanox’s comprehensive end-to-end 40Gb/s connectivity solution of switches, fabric management and adapters provide the highest return on investment by delivering superior performance, density and ease of use that enables high-performance data centers to operate systems at any scale while reducing operational costs and infrastructure complexity.
