For disk defragmentation on ESX server, Exchange and desktop environments

The company services over 6,000 customers and maintains 2 VMware ESX hosts, an Exchange server, and a SQL server for document management. It selected PerfectDisk 10 Professional, PerfectDisk 10 vSphere ESX and PerfectDisk 10 Exchange to meet its needs.

Before selecting PerfectDisk, the company evaluated competing products and found that PerfectDisk provided the best value and virtualization support, with full automation and seamless integration into Louis T. Roth & Co.’s ESX environment. Prior to using PerfectDisk, the company ran the Windows built-in defragmenter every few months, which consumed many hours of IT staff time. Each of the staff run several Windows applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat, CCH Tax, CCH Engagement, Time & Billing, and CCH Document Management.

"PerfectDisk was the only solution available that provided full integration with our ESX Server," said Mark French, technology manager at Louis T. Roth & Co. "Since deploying PerfectDisk, we’ve also been able to eliminate manual defrags, which sometimes took an entire weekend, so the staff savings are huge. Plus, system startup and application load times are much faster, without any impact on end users, because PerfectDisk only runs during idle time."

"We’re very happy to welcome Louis T. Roth & Co. to the worldwide family of PerfectDisk users," said Joe Abusamra, vice president of operations at Raxco Software. "It’s a perfect example of a firm benefitting from a cross section of our solutions, including our increasingly popular virtualization offerings."
