SANBlaze Technology Delivers 6Gb SAS Emulation System

SANBlaze Technology, Inc. announced the delivery of the SANBlaze VirtuaLUN SLUN6, a SAS Target and Initiator Emulation system for 6G SAS. The new system combines all of the features of SANBlaze’s prior SAS systems with the upgraded speed and protocol capabilities required for 6G SAS product development, testing and QA.

The SANBlaze VirtuaLUN SLUN6 system is the only emulation system available that provides multi port scalability and combines both target and initiator functionality in a single solution.

The VirtuaLUN SLUN6 is available in a wide range of port configurations, providing multiple options depending on the scale required. A 1U, performance-optimized configuration can provide 8 or 16 6G SAS ports. For larger scale testing, a 3U system is available, providing up to 40 SAS ports. In target mode, ports can be configured to present virtual targets, emulated disks or tapes, each with configurable size, speed, attributes, errors and profiles. Initiator emulation provides the capability to test scale and run predefined tests and performance analysis against 6G SAS targets.

The ability of the system to predefine, store and recall hundreds of test scenarios makes the SANBlaze system an indispensable tool for 6G SAS product development, test and QA. User interfaces include a completely scriptable Command Line interface and an easy to use ‘point and click’ web-based interface. Also included are pre-defined disk, tape and array profiles, providing the user with simulation of real storage devices.

The VirtuaLUN SLUN6 systems are available now in 8 or 16 port configurations, with the 40 port configuration available in November.
