Data Robotics Signs Bell Micro

For pan-European distribution

Data Robotics, Inc. announced a pan-European distribution agreement with value-added storage distributor Bell Micro.

Under the terms of the agreement, Bell Micro will distribute Data Robotics’ innovative and award-winning DroboPro, Drobo, and DroboShare storage solutions in nine European countries including the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands and others.

Mike Collins, Data Robotics’ EMEA channel director said: "Since launching the company two years ago more than 85,000 units have been sold. With demand for Drobo and DroboPro continuing to grow, our partnership with Bell Micro will help extend the brand across Europe in the quickest, most efficient, way reaching more customers through a wider network of resellers and retailers."

DroboPro and Drobo, respectively eight- and four-drive storage arrays, provide small and medium businesses (SMB), creative professionals, and consumers with a hugely simplified storage experience, enhanced by advanced self-monitoring and self-healing features that ensure the highest levels of data protection. DroboShare turns Drobo into a network attached storage (NAS) appliance.

"DroboPro and Drobo represent the first storage family of products designed to provide SMBs with the reliable protection of traditional RAID without the typical complexities. Businesses that deploy DroboPro can maintain uptime in the face of constant data growth and enjoy enterprise-level business continuity features, including protection against multiple, concurrent drive failure and non-disruptive capacity expansion with thin provisioning," said David Chantry, Product Marketing Manager at Bell Micro. "We are delighted to sign this partnership with Data Robotics, which will allow us to provide a compelling offering for our resellers to take to their customer base."

"Bell Micro is a global, specialist distributor of a wide range of high-tech products, solutions and services, with a broad reach into the channel. We are very pleased to be partnered with such a well established, successful distributor," concluded Collins.

Data Robotics’ latest partnership with Bell Micro will complement agreements with existing distribution partners in the UK & Ireland.
