Blancco Disk Wipe Software Slated for Evaluation Assurance Level 3+

Conformed to ISO standards

Blancco, in data erasure and end-of-lifecycle solutions, announced that its certified data erasure products are on track to earn Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) 3+, augmented with ALC_FLR.3. This certification assures customers that the products have gone through a rigorous analysis and testing process and conform to standards sanctioned by the International Standards Organization.

Common Criteria is an internationally recognized independent security certification recognized by governments in 26 countries across Europe, Australasia, Asia and North America. Common Criteria certification is granted when a Common Criteria Licensed Laboratory determines that a product meets security standards that address its functionality, development environment, documentation and product testing measures.

"Blancco will be proud to become the first provider of overwriting-based data erasure software with broad hardware support to receive Common Criteria EAL3+ certification," said Kim Väisänen, CEO of Blancco. "Blancco is already the most certified data erasure provider and customers using our products for data removal are guaranteed that the process meets and exceeds international standards, without having to worry about meeting the security standards of individual countries."

Through its support of Common Criteria guidelines, Blancco continues its commitment to delivering advanced data erasure for the widest range of hardware in the industry. Blancco‚s data erasure solutions adhere to all major government and military erasure standards, while their ability to erase all data – even on hidden and remapped sectors – meets HIPAA, SOX, GLBA and other regulatory requirements. As the industry leader, Blancco’s expertise ensures smooth integration of automated data erasure, hardware asset management and report collection for any organization.
