Custom Technology Certifies Facilis TerraBlock Shared Storage
For faster AVC/H.264 encoding
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on September 21, 2009 at 3:41 pmCustom Technology Corporation (CTC) announced Facilis Technology, Inc.‘s TerraBlock Storage Area Network as the only SAN solution certified for use with their CINEMA CRAFT HD encoder (CC-HDe).
This product has totally revolutionized AVC/H.264 encoding technology, since its introduction in November 2006 and is used in combination with Terrablock by several leading post production companies worldwide.
Silicon Philosophies, Inc. provides marketing, sales distribution and technical support for CINEMA CRAFT HD encoder throughout Europe and Scandinavia. They unveil the latest models of CC-HDe and Terrablock24 during IBC 2009, demonstrating faster than realtime AVC encoding and integrated high-speed SAN capabilities.
"TerraBlock continuously shows exceptional bandwidth capabilities when connected with CC-HDe. The 8Gbit connectivity and virtual-volume aspect of TerraBlock 4.0 allows us to fully exploit the performance characteristics of the encoder," explained Miguel Clarke, director of marketing and strategic planning at Silicon Philosophies. "No other storage device we’ve tested has been able to achieve this level of performance, reliability and cost effectiveness."
"CINEMA CRAFT HD encoder is a perfect compliment to the TerraBlock shared storage system’s workflow and performance capabilities," said James McKenna, vice president, Facilis Technology. "TerraBlock’s 8Gbit fibre channel network provides faster-than-realtime HD encoding. Combined with our Virtual Volume architecture and the new Facilis Shared File System, TerraBlock offers seamless integration into facility-wide data flow."
