AIC 4U 48-Bay SAS JBOD Expansion Unit To Be Released in 3Q09

Advanced Industrial Computer, Inc. (AIC), a storage and server OEM solution provider, announced the long awaited XJ-SA24-448R-B, an ultra-density intelligent expansion storage enclosure , is to be released Q3 this year.

XJ-SA24-448R-B, a 4U 48-bay ultra-density JBOD enclosure under the XJ2000 JBOD series, introduces a whole new generation of data storage enclosure design and technology. The innovative dual-drive carrier design doubles the storage capacity a conventional storage enclosure can deliver, yet allowing the drives to be independently managed. Up to forty-eight (48) 3.5-inch form-factor SAS/SATA drives can be mix-matched in this enclosure, for cost-effective near-line SATA storage or mission critical SAS storage environments. XJ-SA24-448R-B supports up to 96TB of raw data storage at 24-inch of depth and with optimized thermal solution. Dual SAS expander modules are supported to provide dual-path redundancy when using dual-hosts, and each expander has a 12Gbps MiniSAS port for Host link and one for Expansion link. The cable-less, modular enclosure design with hot-swap components and redundant features increase reliability and ease of maintenance.

This new line of XJ2000 JBOD series is designed for high-density near-line and off-line secondary storage applications, such as data center storage, video and data streaming, disk-to-disk backup, data-de-duplication etc, giving IT professionals the storage density and performance they need to minimize their total cost of ownership.

XJ2000 series will be available in the distribution channels in late July. The MSRP of XJ-SA12-448R-B is $6,460 (Single Expander) while XJ-SA24-448R-B is $8,330 (Dual Expander).
