Arkeia Software Latin America
Arkeia has worked with partners to serve more than 100 enterprise customers in Latin America since 1999. The new operations will both improve support for existing partners and customers, and provide better sales, marketing and technical support for new partners across the region.
“Arkeia has protected our environment for more than three years” said Rafael Dalcin, IT Director at Santa Lucia Alimentos (Blue Ville) in Camaquã, Brazil. “Last year, Arkeia Network Backup easily recovered our Red Hat and Oracle servers, and we are delighted Arkeia is investing in building a larger local presence.”
Arkeia has long been the leader in Linux and open source data protection, with more than 110 platforms supported. The rising importance and growth of Linux in Latin America corresponds to the focus and success Arkeia has enjoyed in other regions of the world. “Arkeia has been a member of the select Red Hat Software Program for almost ten years, performing as a Red Hat Independent Software Vendor (ISV),” said Alejandro Chocolat, Country Manager at Red Hat Brazil. “We look forward to working with Mauricio and his team to bring industry leading Linux solutions to customers in Brazil.”
Industry Veteran Pretto Joins to Lead New Office
Mauricio Agrello Pretto comes to Arkeia Software with extensive knowledge of Linux and open source environments, as well as a thorough understanding of Latin American markets. Prior to joining Arkeia, Pretto co-founded one of the largest open source and security integrators in the southern region of Brazil. Pretto has more than 10 years experience leading storage and security implementations across Latin America for customers in industries such as financial services, telecommunications and healthcare.
“Latin America represents a large and growing market for enterprise backup and recovery solutions,” said Bill Evans, CEO of Arkeia Software. “Countries such as Brazil lead the world in open source adoption. Now organizations which opt for open source can be assured of getting the best backup solution with Arkeia Network Backup.
