Axus Yotta Sport PCIe Combines Two RAIDs
Increasing performance by striping and reliability by mirroring
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 1, 2009 at 4:16 pmAXUS Microsystems Inc. announced YOTTA SPORT now available with PCI-Express host connections which produces high performance of PCI Express link (2 downstream PCIe x 4) with 1400MB/s data throughput. An ideal model for any application required higher performance but a cost effective solution.
YOTTA SPORT series is built to combine two Raid subsystems in one enclosure for propose of increasing performance by striping & enhancing reliability by mirroring. Built by dual independent controllers with affordable, high capacity SAS/SATA II drives to deliver high performance for multi-purposes of storage applications.
YOTTA SPORT features:
- 3Gbs SAS / SATA II disk Interface
- RAID Levels: 0, 1, 1E, 3, 5, 6, 30, 50, 60 & JBOD
- Easy management through front LCD control panel, RS-232 port, or the Web browser-based RAID manager (GUI) via built in 10/100 Ethernet port
- Online array roaming and migration
- Instant availability / background initialization
- Multiple RAID selection
- Online capacity expansion
- MPIO
- SNMP
- SMART
PCI-Express Attached RAID simplifies data transmission protocol from traditional SCSI/Fibre channel. New architecture of PCI-Express attached RAID transmits data directly from memory to RAID via DMA scheme to minimum CPU overhead and conversion time. As a results it optimize data throughput rate.
Strip both controllers together with the Operating System to handle the high performance demand. YOTTA SPORT PCI Express is capable of handling more than 1400MB/s throughput with PCI-e host connection bu dual controllers driven by Intel IOP341 processor.
