PreXion Adds Archiving System for X-Rays
For up to 2TB or 6,000 CT scans
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on May 27, 2009 at 3:52 pmPreXion, Inc., in dental and industrial CT systems, announced the availability of DataServer/PX, a DICOM-conformant, massive storage system for the management and archiving of patient data that has accumulated over time through the use of the company’s PreXion3D CBCT X-ray system.
DataServer/PX marks a significant storage and file management upgrade to the PreXion3D system. DataServer/PX seamlessly integrates with the PreXion3D scanner system and allows for the storage of up to 2 terabytes of data, equivalent to 6,000 CT scans that can be quickly and efficiently retrieved for 3D viewing at any PreXion3D network workstation.
"We are excited to extend the storage capacity of the PreXion3D system through the availability of DataServer/PX," said Robert Meier, president and COO of PreXion, Inc. "But more importantly, this new system increases the speed and efficiency of image management by minimizing the lengthy process of storing or retrieving patient data at the workstation."
All images and data stored on DataServer/PX are accessible to network client workstations using PreXion’s unique image analysis system and 3D viewer interface. DataServer/PX integrates seamlessly into an existing PreXion3D installation, allowing the end user to view 2D or 3D images from the server with the same efficiency and speed that would occur if it were part of the local workstation’s hard drive.
DataServer/PX also features the latest in storage technology including RAID 5, hard drive hot swap capability, DICOM compatibility, UPS capability, available tape backup, and a three-year warranty.
