EVault Data Protection to Support vSphere

Enabling customers to benefit from the cloud OS

i365, Inc., a Seagate company, announced that EVault Data Protection solutions will support VMware vSphere by the end of 2009. Launched in April 2009, VMware vSphere is the industry’s first cloud operating system, transforming datacenters into dramatically simplified cloud infrastructures to enable the next generation of flexible, reliable IT services. VMware vSphere gives customers uncompromising control, with greater efficiency, while preserving customer choice.

By supporting VMware vSphere, i365 can further extend the value of EVault Data Protection solutions into customers’ next-generation datacenters and help enable customers to manage large collections of infrastructure – including CPUs, storage and networking – as a seamless, flexible and dynamic cloud environment.

We are pleased that i365 is taking the next step to helping provide customers with a more flexible, reliable and scalable computing environment,” said Bernie Mills, senior director, alliance programs, VMware. “By supporting VMware vSphere, our partners can further enable increased efficiency, control and choice for customers.

As an industry pioneer, i365 EVault has been leveraging the cloud since 1997 to securely backup and recover customers’ sensitive business data at one of our ten global top-tier SAS 70 Type II data centers in North America and Europe,” said Jay Remley, vice president, product management and business development, at i365, A Seagate Company. “Supporting VMware vSphere will allow us to further enhance our offerings to best meet our customers’ data protection requirements.”
