Nascar Media Group Upgrades Its Front Porch Digital DIVArchive System

By adding Apple's Final Cut interface

Front Porch Digital announced that NASCAR Media Group is upgrading its existing DIVArchive content storage management (CSM) system. This upgrade features new seamless, dynamic integration with Apple’s Final Cut Server media asset management application as well as Apple’s Final Cut Pro media editing systems. A beta version of the DIVArchive with Apple integration was available for viewing at the 2009 NAB Show, April 18-23 in Las Vegas.

"Bringing DIVArchive and Apple together in a unified environment will make it easy for producers and editors working in Final Cut Pro to restore content from anywhere within the system including the datatape library," said Jeff Lowe, managing director for media and broadcast technology at NASCAR Media Group. "The flexibility of DIVArchive and our close partnership with Front Porch Digital are key to simplifying our production process and helping to secure our valuable media assets while at the same time supporting higher quality new programming by giving our staff even easier access to thousands of hours of historic clips in our archive."

DIVArchive’s integration with Apple will enable editors within NASCAR Media Group’s internal production group to send content to the archive or restore it for editing from their desktops – all without leaving the familiar Apple environment. In addition, the new Apple interoperability retains DIVArchive’s unique partial restore feature, which enables transfer of only the footage desired, regardless of how long the original source clip was, resulting in tremendous savings in both bandwidth and manpower/equipment time.

"The expansion of DIVArchive into the Apple environment at NASCAR Media Group illustrates its flexibility as well as its ability to adapt as the needs of a customer and its production workflow evolve," said Mike Knaisch, president and CEO of Front Porch Digital.
