d.velop in Partnership with Grau Data

d.velop AG expanded its range of storage media for their enterprise content management (ECM) solution d.3 and thus facilitates the connection of the ARCHIVEMANAGER of the Grau Data AG.
 
Both companies recently signed a corresponding partner agreement. Using the d.3 storage manager as an open interface the ARCHIVEMANAGER can quickly and simply be inserted into the d.3 environment.

With the module AIRCHIVEMANAGER the Grau Data AG realizes a two-media-strategy – hierarchical storage management (HSM) – and thus unites the speed of hard disks with the safety of magnetic tapes. By integrating the module into d.3 also d.velop customers can now profit from the combination of both technologies and cope with the requirements of a modern information lifecycle management concept (ILM).

The ARCHIVEMANAGER is especially suited for the archiving from applications with a high data volume such as DMS, e-mail, SAP R/3, DAD/DAM as well as from medical (PACS) and audio-/video applications. The data contents administrated in d.3 are stored in an audit-proof way in the ARCHIVEMANAGER respecting the legal requirements pursuant to GDPdU and GoBs. Within this context the d.3 storage manager has given prove of itself as central adapter between d.3 and different external memories.

It allows the simultaneous distribution of documents on several storage-systems and contains drivers for NetApp (incl. SnapLock), TSM-DR, EMC Centera and with immediate effect also for the ARCHIVEMANAGER. Further functionalities are a single instance store for the unique storage of documents with identical checksum as well as an ideal block construction for an improved use of resources. To actively market the common solution both producers agreed to cooperate in the field of sales and marketing in the future.
