Mellanox 40Gb IB Switches for HP
And its ProLiant G6 server blades
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on April 1, 2009 at 4:22 pmMellanox Technologies, Ltd. announced that its 40Gb/s InfiniBand ConnectX adapter and InfiniScale IV-based blade switch have been integrated across the new line of HP ProLiant G6 server blades for the HP BladeSystem c-Class platform. The new HP ProLiant G6 server blades incorporate Intel’s recently announced Xeon Processor 5500 Series (formerly codenamed Nehalem), fueling the need for InfiniBand’s industry-leading CPU utilization and bandwidth capabilities. According to Gartner, the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) for blade server shipments from 2008 through 2013 is forecasted to be 20.8% and to reach more than 2.5 million units in 2013, representing the fastest-growing server form factor over the next five years.
