Jones Waldo Law Firm Buys Revinetix Appliance
For network backup and disk archiving
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on February 12, 2009 at 1:52 pmTo simplify network backup tasks and speed archiving, the Jones Waldo law firm has selected the Sentio Pro 2-2400 data protection appliance from Revinetix to automate and manage its weekly disk backups.
Factors that contributed to the firm’s decision included flexibility, affordability and a strong track record of reference sites for the solution.
With Sentio Disk2Disk2Disk technology, backups are fully automated, restores are quick and reliable, and disk-based archive drives are hot swappable, enabling removal and offsite storage. The system is flexible and user friendly, enabling backups to a standard SATA drive. The Sentio Pro also comes pre-bundled with Revinetix’ RevOS administration software. Supporting all major operating systems in use today, including Windows, MacOS, and Linux, RevOS schedules automated backups down to the desktop level for every client connected to the network — even those connected through a VPN (Virtual Private Network).
"Using our previous backup system wasn’t easy," said David R. Clark, MIS director at Jones Waldo. "Backups required a lot of hands-on management and archiving required a separate process. The Sentio solution automates backups and comes complete with an integrated archiving system. Management has been greatly simplified so that I’m free to focus my efforts on other critical tasks for the firm."
Designed to be affordable, Revinetix sells the Sentio D2D2D backup appliance with a capacity use license, which means there are no site or seat fees. An unlimited number of servers and clients can be backed up without additional fees.
Credible reference sites were also key to Jones Waldo’s decision. Valcom, a Revinetix Value-Added Reseller (VAR), connected Jones Waldo with other law firms that had Revinetix backup appliances installed. The installed sites were able to verify the performance and reliability of the appliances for data management required by law firms.
"The Sentio solution provides me with the peace of mind that we have a dependable, efficient backup system that will be a benefit to my job and not a liability," said Clark.
Additional benefits of the solution include convenient access to archived data and eased scalability.
"Jones Waldo is making a strategic investment to make its backup and archiving processes faster, easier and more reliable," said Thomas Hogan, Revinetix president and CEO. "Our Sentio solution will help the MIS staff operate more effectively while also improving access to its data files to help enhance efficiency throughout the entire firm."
