Acronis True Image Software Included in Imation SSD Upgrade Kits

To migrate data

Acronis, Inc. announced that its True Image software was selected for inclusion in the Upgrade Kits for Imation Corp’s new S-Class and M-Class Solid State Drives (SSD). This allows customers to quickly and easily migrate all of their data, applications and operating system (including all settings, emails, etc.) to their new SSD, which can then be used as the main system drive.

SSDs are a data storage technology utilizing solid state memory. There are no motors or moving parts, which means that SSDs are faster, more robust and more reliable, reduce heat and noise generation, and have greater durability and shock resistance, as compared to traditional hard drives.

The Upgrade Kits include Acronis True Image HD, an OEM version of Acronis’s award-winning backup and recovery software that is specifically built for hard drive vendors.

The two available Kits correspond to the two new Imation M-Class SSD and S-Class SSD drives which will be available in 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch configurations, respectively, with capacities ranging from 32GB to 128GB.

"SSDs are an increasingly popular choice in computers as an alternative to traditional hard drives as customers seek to improve the performance and reliability of their computers," said Jason Donahue, CEO of Acronis. "Making data backup, recovery and migration simple is what Acronis True Image does and we are pleased to be part of the new Imation product line as we are confident that with Acronis software, new SSD customers won’t miss a beat."

The Imation SSD Upgrade Kits will be available in March 2009.
