With "special pricing"
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 30, 2009 at 3:39 pmData Recovery Group (DRG) is offering special pricing to recover data from Seagate Barracuda Series 7200.11 Hard Drives. The hard drives in this series have been reported to be having a high level of failures.
“As a data recovery company, we get to see trends in hard drive failures across the industry. We have started to see a high rate of failure in Seagate Barracuda Series 7200.11 Hard Drives. Customers report that when they turn on their computers, that the hard drive sounds normal but that their systems won’t see the drive. The cause of the problem is a defect in the hard drive firmware,” said Patrick Ahern, President of the Data Recovery Group.
The Data Recovery Group recommends that if you have this series of hard drive in your system, that you will need to back up your important data to another storage media. Do not shut down the computer until the data is backed up. There is no early warning of an impending failure. Once the drive fails the system will not be able to access the data.
“But all is not lost. We, at the Data Recovery Group, have the correct tools to repair the firmware and recover the data. We have developed a fixed price program to recover the data and return the data to the customer on another hard drive,” said Ahern.
