300% More New Customers From 2007 to 2008 for Robobak
And consequently cashflow-positive
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on January 16, 2009 at 3:35 pmROBOBAK, in agentless data protection software designed for remote and branch offices, reported record growth in new customer generation and revenues for 2008. The company said it had registered an increase of more than 300 percent in new customers over 2007, and noted that it is cashflow-positive.
ROBOBAK said that 2008 was the best year in the company’s history, pointing to a wide range of significant achievements, including:
- The introduction of ROBOBAK v9, a new version of its software that cuts the time required for full remote backups of Microsoft Exchange databases by up to 90 percent or more. ROBOBAK’s Thin Backup Option (TBO) for Exchange makes it possible for storage administrators to once again get a handle on email data protection requirements that have been increasingly spiraling out of control. It also provides them with the assurance that their email databases, containing multiple terabytes of corporate-critical information, can be easily and reliably backed up offsite;
- Significant expansion of its reseller channel across four continents, including North America, Europe, Pacific Rim and Australia; and
- Announced the formation of the ROBOBAK certification labs, which tested hardware and software products from STEC and other leading vendors for compatibility with ROBOBAK’s software.
“The market evolved in our favor in 2008, with companies across a wide range of vertical industries understanding the need to centrally protect data from their multiple locations,” said Ron Roberts, ROBOBAK’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “2009 is shaping up as an even better year; our sales pipeline is filled with prospects, resellers and managed service providers have approached us, and our awareness is growing in the marketplace,” he added.
“ROBOBAK’s approach fits well with the requirements of distributed offices for enterprises both large and small,” said Eric Burgener, senior analyst at the Taneja Group. “It’s a well architected product that requires no host footprint, incorporates newer technologies like data de-duplication and ‘thin backup’ for bandwidth and storage savings, and allows disk-based data protection for far-flung offices to be centrally managed. Backup and restore is a problem every company must address, and ROBOBAK’s past success is a clear indicator that they are hitting the mark for their customers.”
