The implementation of the archiving solution ‘Cumulus Program’ is aimed at managing 50 per cent of the department’s available information within its database by enabling users to retrieve information easily and allowing them to add images and information to the required subjects accurately and comprehensively.
Designed to provide users with a robust and user friendly database, which features workflow dealing with various file types, ‘Cumulus Program’ consists of a set of catalogues, which will be used to store the images required to be saved or archived, thereby allowing for an easier search and retrieval process in the future. The program has a huge capacity to store all electronic documents automatically within a centralized location, and is characterized with accurate and safety features provided to protect the files from being altered, deleted or stolen. Furthermore, ‘Cumulus Program’ is considered a highly scalable program, where electronic documents can be easily located amongst a large number of files.
"Our aim is to complete the archiving process and required information bank by using the electronic archiving system ‘Canto Cumulus’, which will serve as a sufficient source of information to develop subjects and contents," said Shaikha Khulood Al Qassimi, Director of Curriculum Department, MOE. "Our decision to partner with PRO TECHnology on this project is based on their proven expertise in such large-scale implementation. By adopting this system, we are able to achieve rapid delivery, thereby specifically addressing our precise requirements."
Following PRO TECHnology’s thorough assessment of the information protection standards of the Curriculum Department, the ‘Cumulus Program’ solution has been recommended as it is equipped with the ‘Asset Security Meets Streamlined Workflow’ feature, which ensures the protection of intellectual property rights from the incidents of piracy and spam. In addition, the solution also incorporates an electronic library that provides various vital options in terms of providing the appropriate images to develop a new textbook with advanced curricula, which enables the department to maintain the highest standards of quality in the area of production, design and printing.
Eyad Al Shanable, Business Consultant Manager – Government & Corporate Accounts, PRO TECHnology, said: "The availability of a modern infrastructure that copes with the work conditions and the requirements of development is essential for any organization. We are proud to be MOE’s partners in this project, and we are looking forward to working with the Ministry in the future."
The Ministry of Education is keen to improve its ways of communication among students, parents and the entire channel of school locations. In addition to its efforts to adopt modern solutions to reinforce its the local education system, the Ministry also maintains a website, which provides electronic services for all governmental schools and students, who can access this site to update themselves on the curriculum and exam samples.
