Daniel Diltz VP of Advanced Storage Products Division at NEC America

He was president of HDS Credit Corp. after stints at Hitachi, Amdahl and StorageTek.

NEC Corporation of America has announced the appointment of Daniel Diltz to the position of vice president of the company’s Advanced Storage Products Division (ASPD). Diltz will be responsible for all storage products NEC Corporation of America brings to market, including HYDRAstor and D-Series.

"Dan will be joining the company at a particularly exciting stage in NEC’s North American growth," said Dave Davenport, senior vice president of IT Platform and Solutions, NEC Corporation of America. "With more than 30 years of IT experience and a proven track record in accelerating top-line revenue growth, Dan can take NEC’s already accomplished storage division to the next level."

As part of a recent organizational restructure to intensify focus on NEC’s branding and marketing in the IT infrastructure segment, Diltz will succeed Karen Dutch, who recently was appointed vice president of Marketing and Customer Support for NEC Corporation of America’s IT Platform and Solutions Group. Diltz will oversee the operations of the Advanced Storage Products Division, whose product line includes a complete suite of enterprise modular storage arrays that offer non-destructive scalability for mission-critical data and the industry’s only self-evolving grid storage optimized for backup and archive data. His primary focus will be on product and growth strategy for NEC’s branded and OEM storage business.

Diltz joins NEC from Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), where he was most recently president of HDS Credit Corporation. With nearly four decades of success in the global storage market, Diltz’ experience includes running HDS’s US Storage business, along with service in a number of other executive positions for Hitachi, Amdahl and StorageTek.

"Having been active in the industry for several years, I have watched NEC’s Advanced Storage Products Division grow into a leading provider in the storage solutions market," said Diltz. "I am excited to be among some of the most thought-provoking, innovative leaders, and look forward to shaping the future of storage solutions to further benefit our clients."

Diltz earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration at Creighton University, College of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Nebraska, College of Engineering.
