Alta Resource Technologies and Gallantry Global Logistics Launch Pilot to Recycle Rare Earth Elements from End-of-Life HDDs
To produce one ton of purified rare earth oxides from end-of-life HDD magnets
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on March 21, 2025 at 2:00 pmAlta Resource Technologies, Inc. and Gallantry Global Logistics are joining forces on an innovative pilot program to produce 1 ton of purified rare earth oxides from end-of-life HDD magnets.
This initiative aims to establish a sustainable and profitable model for recycling rare earth elements (REE) critical to high-tech and clean energy applications. Under this collaboration, Gallantry Global will oversee the procurement of used HDDs, extraction and processing of magnets, as well as storage and logistics. Alta will then refine the deconstructed magnets into high-purity rare earth oxides that meet industry standards for reintegration into the supply chain.
“This pilot represents a major step toward reducing dependence on virgin rare earth mining by demonstrating a circular economy solution for these critical materials,” said Nathan Ratledge, CEO, Alta Resource Technologies. “By leveraging our advanced processing capabilities alongside Gallantry Global’s expertise in logistics and material recovery, we are paving the way for a more sustainable supply chain.“
