Alan Conboy Joins OTAVA as Field CTO

Hyperconverged infrastructure veteran will drive company's edge computing strategy

OTAVA LLCAlan Conboy Joins Otava As Field Cto announced the appointment of industry veteran and hyperconverged infrastructure technology evangelist Alan Conboy as Field CTO.

As Field CTO for Edge Computing and Data Protection, Conboy will drive OTAVA’s edge computing strategy to unlock new opportunities to serve distributed enterprises modernizing their applications and businesses seeking alternatives for Broadcom/VMware. As organizations evaluate how to deploy applications closer to the user location and centralize management across highly distributed companies, Conboy’s contributions will support customers’ exceptional experience with OTAVA’s data protection solutions.

A technology evangelist specializing in designing, prototyping, selling, and implementing disruptive storage and virtualization technologies, Conboy was one of the original members of the Scale Computing team, and helped create the Scale Computing Platform from the ground up.

Most recently he served as Scale Computing’s Field CTO responsible for the company’s technology strategy and creating significant technology partnerships and an ecosystem to support the Scale SC//Platform. Earlier, Conboy held positions at Sun Microsystems, Computer Associates, IBM, LeftHand Networks, ADIC, CreekPath Systems, and Spectra Logic. Conboy is notably one of the first movers in the X86/X64 hyperconvergence space, and one of the first 30 people ever certified by SNIA.
