As the agency responsible for granting patents and registering trademarks, the USPTO supports the growth of American ingenuity by providing robust IP protection and collaborating internationally to strengthen IP enforcement. By helping innovators, entrepreneurs, and companies navigate the complex world of intellectual property, the USPTO drives U.S. economic growth and contributes to the nation’s leadership in global markets.
In order to conduct work efficiently and effectively, the USPTO relies heavily on software applications to submit, review, research and approve applications. Recently USPTO awarded Peraton a $52 million dollar contract to provide Storage Infrastructure Managed Services (SIMS). The work will establish secure, resilient, accessible, robust, expandable and recoverable information and critical data storage, ensuring these applications perform at their optimal levels.
“We are incredibly excited to support the USPTO’s mission in advancing U.S. innovation and promoting stronger intellectual property protection worldwide,” said Amy Rall, president, citizen security and public services sector, Peraton. “Our team is committed to leveraging our expertise to contribute to the USPTO’s critical work, helping ensure that American innovators continue to thrive in a competitive global landscape.”
As part of this contract, Peraton will be responsible for the ownership, design, security posture, support, and maintenance of the storage infrastructure that underpins the USPTO’s mission. The team will provide services, including supporting USPTO with the management of storage networks, hardware, software, security, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing operational support.
This mission ensures that the USPTO’s storage infrastructure remains on the cutting edge of technology, with predictable costs and streamlined budgeting throughout the fiscal year. Peraton is proud to play a key role in supporting the USPTO’s efforts to drive innovation and enhance intellectual property protection on a global scale.
