Asustor Introduces 12-Bay Enterprise-Grade SAS JBOD Xpanstor 12R and AS-SAS8e SAS HBA

Asustor Inc. is announcing the enterprise-grade Xpanstor 12R JBOD expansion unit and the SAS HBA AS-SAS8e.

Asustor NAS devices supporting the AS-SAS8e support the Xpanstor 12R JBOD expansion unit to provide convenient and robust file sharing, remote access, and backup functionality. When expansion of storage capacity is required, pair user NAS with the Xpanstor 12R to allow additional hard drives to be connected to a NAS through a SAS connection to create an enterprise storage environment for managing large volumes of data.

Effortless Configuration

Storage Manager in ADM enables easy management and configuration between an Asustor NAS and an attached company’s expansion unit. Storage Manager also supports the creation of multiple volume types and snapshot features, further enhancing data security and reliability.

Modular By Design

The Xpanstor 12R is equipped with dual 650W power supplies for redundancy and 3 hot-swappable fans, ensuring operational efficiency and fault tolerance. In the event of a single power supply failure, the system automatically switches to the backup power supply to ensure continuous operation and data security. The hot-swappable fan design allows fans to be replaced without interrupting the drives, reducing maintenance and downtime costs.

The AS-SAS8e provides high-performance and reliable storage connectivity. Designed for enterprise applications that demand high capacity and throughput, the SAS interface outperforms SATA with faster speeds, lower latency, and greater scalability and reliability. When paired with high-end rack-mounted Asustor NAS models featuring built-in PCIe expansion slots and managed through Storage Manager in ADM, it creates a fast and stable solution for increased storage capacity.
