Features in BDRSuite v7.5.0:
Proxmox VE Cluster backup
Previously, BDRSuite only supported Proxmox backup for standalone Proxmox VE hosts. With BDRSuite v7.5.0, we’ve expanded backup support to include Proxmox VE Clusters. This means that even as VMs move between hosts within the cluster, backups will continue seamlessly, ensuring uninterrupted protection (more about BDRSuite’s Proxmox Backup Solution).
RAW and VMDK disk support for Proxmox VE Backup
Previously, only QCOW disk types were supported for backup. With v7.5.0, we’ve expanded support to include RAW and VMDK disk types for Proxmox VE virtual machine backup.
Instant Boot VM for Proxmox VE Backup
In the event of a failure, you can now instantly boot Proxmox VMs from backups in less than 15 minutes, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
Offsite copy for Proxmox VE, KVM, and oVirt VM backups
BDRSuite’s Offsite Copy/DR feature allows you to create additional copies of VM backups (for Proxmox VE, KVM, and oVirt) and store them in a remote data center, your own public cloud, or BDRCloud. This ensures that you have an extra layer of disaster recovery protection in place.
Checksum based incremental for Proxmox VE Backup
BDRSuite utilizes Changed Block Tracking (CBT) mechanism for incremental backups. BDRSuite now introduces checksum-based incremental backups as an additional mechanism for tracking and backing up only the changed blocks. If CBT fails, this feature ensures uninterrupted incremental backups by utilizing checksums to track changes in data blocks.
Enhancements in BDRSuite v7.5.0
Socket Reconnection for Proxmox backups during network interruptions, ensuring more reliable backups in fluctuating network conditions.
Parallel backups for VMs on the same host, assigned to different backup jobs, utilize VM-level Dynamic Port Allocation for NBD Read during backup, significantly speeding up the process.
Bug fixes
BDRSuite v7.5.0 includes numerous bug fixes that enhance stability, performance, and the overall user experience. These fixes address various issues reported by users, ensuring a smoother and more reliable backup process.
