StorMagic SvHCI Full-stack HCI Solution V.2.0
Includes snapshots, centralized monitoring and management and VM imports, and expands to help customers reliably run edge applications and data
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on December 13, 2024 at 2:01 pmStorMagic, Inc. announced version 2.0 of its SvHCI full-stack HCI solution, which is purpose-built for enterprise edge and SMB environments.
SvHCI is a cost-effective HCI solution for the edge, saving customers up to 62% on software alone compared to VMware alternatives.
Originally introduced in June 2024, key new features in SvHCI 2.0 include:
-
VM Snapshots — The ability to take snapshots of all VMs, roll-back software updates and point-in-time records, enabling advanced data protection.
-
Edge Control Monitoring and Management – This enterprise-scale fleet management capability now offers centralized, cloud-based access to all SvHCI systems, and allows users to control 100s or 1,000s of remote edge sites.
-
VM Import – Customers can quickly, reliably and affordably migrate VMware VMs to StorMagic SvHCI, while significantly reducing time to production.
“StorMagic’s introduction of SvHCI positions it as a key player in the market, as the solution helps customers meet their needs today by lowering TCO, streamlining operations and simplifying their overall management experience,” said Mitch Ashley, VP and practice lead, devops and application development, The Futurum Group. ”Enterprise edge and SMB customers looking to migrate from the escalating costs of virtualization technologies like VMware to contemporary enterprise edge and SMB platforms should seriously consider a move to SvHCI as an effective transition path to modern, more efficient data management.”
Additional new SvHCI features include: expanded virtual NIC and virtual disk support; enhanced VM/host density; ability to deploy stretched clusters; and support for Intel Virtual RAID on CPU (VROC) embedded storage controller.
“Thanks to the market disruption caused by Broadcom, the demand for alternative hypervisors is booming,” said Bruce Kornfeld, CPO, StorMagic. “SvHCI 2.0 introduces new capabilities that make it even easier for customers to manage their HCI infrastructure and keep applications running, all at the lowest possible cost.”
Pricing and availability:
- SvHCI 2.0 will be available for purchase in the next 90 days. Pricing begins at $2,049 for a 1-year subscription for a single server and up to 2TB of storage.
- Also launching is the SvHCI Global Beta Program for VM Snapshots, where customers and partners can get early access to the software and test on their own servers.
