With 13 IBM DS8000 systems and Brocade's directors in multi-million dollar deal
By Jean Jacques Maleval | November 8, 2024 at 2:00 pmAccording to both Brocade and IBM, German leader Commerzbank will replace more than 100 EMC, HP and IBM storage devices with 13 IBM DS8000 systems and Brocade’s directors in a multi-million dollar deal.
The bank will also build virtualization solutions based on IBM’s Total Storage Productivity Centre. As part of the agreement, Commerzbank will install more than 450TB of disk storage capacity with the ability to scale up to petabytes of data.
All the data will be mirrored in a separate site several kilometers away using IBM Remote Copy Management and Brocade’s multiprotocol routers.
The new storage system, to be implemented in 2005, will be connected to various servers, including IBM’s eSeries and pSeries, as well as others from other sources.
