Icy Dock Unveils CP135 Dual EDSFF E1.S SSD RAID Mobile Rack PCIe 3.0 x8 Adapter Concept Product
Built-in RAID modes such as RAID-0, 1, JBOD, and BIG (spanning)
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on November 6, 2024 at 2:00 pmIcy Dock unveils the CP135, a ‘Concept Product’ based on customer suggestions.
This CP135 is a dual EDSFF E1.S SSD RAID mobile rack adapter tailored for PCIe 3.0 x8 expansion slots. It empowers users to swiftly integrate 2×9.5mm height E1.S NVMe SSDs into any system with a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot. It boasts built-in RAID modes such as RAID-0, 1, JBOD, and BIG (spanning).
Coupled with a removable E1.S SSD caddy and a tool-less SSD installation design, the CP135 allows user to add or remove E1.S SSD in seconds without needing to power down or open the case. Furthermore, it doesn’t occupy any system storage space, making it a choice for computer systems with limited expansion space or systems transitioning from a SATA storage framework.
Built-in RAID-0, 1, JBOD and BIG
The CP135’s built-in RAID chipset offers hassle-free addition of RAID-0 or RAID 1 arrays and JBOD or BIG disk arrays to any system with a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot. There’s no need to navigate intricate system setups, from connecting data and power cables to the host, selecting the right SSD enclosure, RAID controller card, or ensuring hardware compatibility. Just install 2xE1.S SSDs, plug the CP135 into a PCIe slot, and set your desired RAID mode to enjoy a high-speed NVMe RAID or disk array in any computer system.
Drive activity indicator system
The CP135 features a RAID status degraded LED indicator and a buzzer, supporting email notification capabilities. This ensures users receive timely alerts to prevent data loss from hardware failures. Recognizing that PCIe adapters are usually positioned at the system’s rear, the CP135 offers 2 sets of 4-pin headers and 1 set of 2-pin headers. These headers facilitate the transfer of drive activity signals and RAID rebuilding signals to the system’s front panel LED, ensuring visibility.
Tool-less E1.S SSD installation
Install EDSFF E1.S SSD without tools in under 5s, eliminating the need for fiddly, easy-to-misplace SSD screws.
Optimal cooling efficiency
To provide an optimal thermal environment for the EDSFF E1.S SSD, the CP135 is equipped with a 50mm frameless cooling fan. With its sealed-space design, this fan effectively channels airflow, removing heat and ensuring E1.S SSD remains cool, sustaining transfer speed consistency and prolonging SSD lifespan.
PCIe 3.0 performance
Harness the advantages of the PCIe 3.0 interface which consolidates power and data through a single slot, minimizing system cable clutter. Enjoy the remarkable 32Gb transfer speed – a staggering 6x faster than SATA RAID, perfect for data-heavy applications
