This achievement underscores the adoption and performance of the PBlaze7 7940 series in the enterprise storage market.

The PBlaze7 7940, unveiled at FMS 2023, is equipped with the Marvell Bravera SC5 controller and the latest NAND flash technology. Leveraging deep optimization by the Memblaze engineering team and its Unified Framework Platform, it delivers 2.5x the performance and 1.5x the power efficiency of conventional PCIe 4.0 SSDs. This performance supports the growing storage demands of digital applications, such as AI, ML and cloud computing.

We are thrilled with the market response to the PBlaze7 7940 series,” said Dr. Taile Zhang, CEO, Memblaze. “Surpassing the 150,000 unit shipment mark within a few months of its launch is a testament to the exceptional performance and reliability of our product. The rise of AIGC has driven exponential growth in computational demands, and the PBlaze7 7940 is perfectly positioned to meet these needs with its exceptional performance and quality.

Matt Kim, VP of storage business at Marvell Technology, Inc., commented: “We congratulate Memblaze on achieving this milestone. The PBlaze7 7940 SSDs, powered by our cloud-optimized Bravera SC5 SSD controller, demonstrate exceptional performance and reliability, making them ideal for business-critical and high-performance workloads.

As a next gen PCIe 5.0 SSD, the PBlaze7 7940 achieves impressive 4K random read/write performance of up to 2,800,000 IO/s / 720,000 IO/s, outperforming previous generations. With sequential read and write speeds doubled to 14GB/s and 10GB/s respectively, the SSD also boasts latency as low as 57/9μs, ensuring seamless operation for latency-sensitive applications.

To meet increasing market demand for high-capacity SSDs, Memblaze has expanded the capacity of the PBlaze7 7940 to 30.72TB, enabling customers to achieve higher performance and storage density. This expansion reduces SSD and server deployments, lowers TCO, and decreases carbon emissions.

PBlaze7 7940 supports NVMe 2.0 and OCP 2.0 specs, offering an array of enterprise features such as NVMe-MI 1.2b out-of-band management, end-to-end data protection, TCG Opal 2.0, read ahead, and 128K atomic write, enhancing data security and product manageability. It provides a capacity range from 3.2TB to 30.72TB and various form factors including 2.5-inch U.2, E3.S 1T, E3.S 2T, E1.S, and HHHL AIC, meeting the deployment needs of enterprise customers.
