FMS 2024: Kove:SDM” Software-Defined Memory Solution

Memory virtualization trailblazer enables enterprises to maximize performance on Al/ML jobs, high-demand applications and edge computing environments using all existing hardware, while reducing energy consumption.

Kove will showcase Kove:SDM”, a software-defined memory solution, for attendees and tech industry leaders at FMS 2024, August 6-8 at the Santa Clara Convention Center, CA.

John Overton, founder and CEO, Koven, will also deliver a keynote on August 7, Software-Defined Memory is here: lt performs like local memory, scales, and works on any hardware’. He will be joined by partners Thomas Zschach, chief innovation officer, Swift, and Ian Hood, CTO/chief strategist, Red Hat, Inc.

In the era of Al/ML and memory thirsty applications, it is well past time for agile enterprises to move beyond the concerns of the memory wall,” said Overton. “We’re excited to take the stage at FMS and share how Kove:SDM'” gives any server the flexibility to meet large server needs and can transform smaller servers into any size server to meet real-time demands on-the-fly. Whether it’s Al-intensive workloads, such as model training with enormous datasets, inmemory databases or containers, technologists can now achieve what was previously impossible.

During the keynote, Overton and Hood will illustrate the technology and operational benefits Red Hat achieved with Kove:SDM” backed by empirical test results of Kove:SDM” configured on Red Hat OpenShift application platform using StressNG, Intel P- States, and standard Supermicro server hardware.

Test data shows power savings up to 54%, near-local CPU performance, and superior performance from remote memory compared to local memory-all on existing infrastructure, with no code changes. Additionally, Overton and Zschach will close with a discussion of how Kove and Swift are revolutionizing financial crime prevention. They will explain how Kove:SDM” is being used to help protect customers’ transactions when the stakes are the highest.

In addition to the keynote, the company’ experts will also be available to discuss and share demos of Kove:SDM”, the world’s first and only fully mature, commercially deployed software-defined memory solution, at firm’s booth. It is also in consideration across multiple categories of the ‘Best of Show‘ innovation awards at FMS. These awards recognize the most significant and influential technologies showcased at this premier global event for key players in the multi-billion-dollar high-speed memory, storage and SSD markets.

Kove’s keynote at FMS
As part of our keynote, Red Hat will share empirical test results that highlight how Kove:SDM” helps business-critical applications gain performance while saving time and energy and reducing costs and complexity. Swift will explain how Kove:SDM” is helping them prevent economic crime for their global customers, and showcase how the pooled memory solution works on standard, existing infrastructure with no code changes.

FMS attendees will learn why their memory limitations are a thing of past thanks to wide range of computing needs that Kove:SDM” addresses, including:

  • Getting more out of hardware with 60x faster workloads than VMs + Processing jobs 125x faster by running them all in memory and avoiding swap
  • Increasing the number of containers running on a cluster by lO0x
  • Delivering power savings up to 54%
  • Providing superior, near-local performance from remote memory
  • Right-sizing memory for optimal CPU utilization by pooling and provisioning memory
  • Scaling up your memory for improved utilization, simplicity, efficiency, and performance, no matter how large your data size or computational need
