For $260 million
By Jean Jacques Maleval | July 25, 2024 at 2:00 pmEMC continued its investment strategy for software management by acquiring System Management ARTS or SMARTS for no less than $260 million in cash.
For the White Plains, NY company, founded in 1993 and with $60 million in sales in 2004, the flagship product is InCharge, which automatically identifies problems on the network, their impacts and what needs to be done to fix them. EMC is volunteering to apply this technology to its storage networks.
SMARTS will be integrated into the EMC software group. Its founder and CEO Dr. Shaula Alexander-Yemini will join the EMC office of the CTO after managing the transition.
