Continued momentum in customer, partner and bookings growth for Ootbi, best storage for Veeam
This is a Press Release edited by StorageNewsletter.com on June 20, 2024 at 2:01 pmObject First, Inc., provider of Ootbi (Out-of-the-Box-Immutability), the ransomware-proof backup storage appliance purpose-built for Veeam Software, Inc., announced a bookings surge in Q1 2024, fueled by growth in new customers and partners in North America and EMEA.
Compared to 1Q23, bookings grew 822% WW and 560% in North America. The company launched Ootbi in February 2023.
“Building on a strong 2023, Object First accelerated our bookings growth in 1Q24, anticipating the need for ransomware-proof immutable backup storage that is secure, simple and powerful,” said David Bennet, CEO, Object First. “The strong growth in our partner and customer base, especially among those leveraging our larger capacity appliances, reflects the need to secure growing volumes of backup data and ensure rapid and complete recovery when disasters occur.”
More Deployments, Bigger Deployments
The company continued its record of significant growth in Ootbi deployments, recording 57 in 1Q24, a 714% increase over 1Q23. Of those, 3 were over 6 figures, a 200% increase over 1Q23. The company recorded a 700% increase in deals that included two or more Ootbi appliances, and demand for the larger capacity 128TB units grew at 1,050% Y/Y in 1Q24.
To address demand from both partners and customers to store ever-growing quantities of backup data securely, Object First announced a 192TB appliance on June 3, 2024, at the VeeamON conference, adding to the existing Ootbi portfolio of 64TB and 128TB units. This 192TB release unlocks up to 768TB of usable immutable backup storage per Ootbi cluster and integrates seamlessly with Veeam’s 12.1.2 release, facilitating backup storage capacities exceeding 3PB as part of a Veeam backup repository.
Partner and Customer Growth Gets Industry Recognition
Object First saw significant partner and customer growth over 1Q24, with customers increasing 300% WW over 1Q23, and partners 637%.
These new and expanded relationships include resellers like Insight and Sentinel Technologies; Veeam Cloud Service Providers like IT2Grow and Viyu Network Solutions (also a customer); and customers like Centerbase. Object First adoption is based on making the most advanced, secure, immutable backup storage easy to deploy and manage.
As stated by Zach Young, director of IT, Centerbase, “Most importantly, our Ootbi just works. Set it and forget it. I can’t wait to budget for another one.”
Growth in EMEA is a strategic focus for the company seeing 400% growth in customers in 1Q24 compared to 1Q23. In 1Q24, the firm announced partnerships with distributors across Europe, including Copaco (BeNeLux region), Pedab (Scandinavia – Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Poland, Balkans), and V-Valley (Spain).
This track record of growth and the value provided to partners and customers worldwide was recognized by CRN in 1Q24, who included Object First in the annual CRN 2024 Partner Program Guide.
